Little Brown Tulip Bulbs

This activity draws inspiration from the tale of "The Little Brown Tulip Bulb" featured in the book "An Orff Mosaic from Canada," edited by Lois Birkenshaw-Flemming. Designed for students in Grades K to 1, the focus lies on creating sound effects through vocalizations and instruments, along with dramatizing a story using free movement. The narrative revolves around a group of brown tulip bulbs nestled beneath the winter snow, awakening with the assistance of rain, wind, and the sun as the spring season commences. The collaborative efforts of these natural elements unfold in the story, culminating in the awakening of the tulip bulb.

This story seamlessly aligns with Tirgan's Nowruz event, highlighting the onset of spring, the renewal of nature, blossoming flowers, and green trees—the very essence of Nowruz celebration.

The activity initiates with a circle gathering, accompanied by a communal song to bring all children together. Subsequently, a conversation about spring and Nowruz ensues, encouraging children to share their knowledge and emotions related to the topics. Two-Three leaders or storytellers guide the activity, and depending on the number of participants, volunteers may be sought for assistance.

The children are divided into four groups: the first group represents the tulip bulbs seated in the middle, while the remaining three groups take on the roles of the Sun, Wind, and Rain. Instruments employed encompass a variety of small percussive instruments like drums, castanets, rhythm sticks, tambourines, as well as Orff instruments including xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels. This multi-faceted approach creates an engaging and collaborative atmosphere, allowing the children to actively participate in bringing this musical story to life.

برنامه بعدی از داستان "شکوفه های کوچک بهاری" الهام گرفته شده است که در کتاب "یک موزاییک ارف از کانادا" ویرایش شده توسط لوئیس بیرکنشاو فلمینگ ارائه شده است. این موسیقی-درام برای هنر آموزان رده سنی ۳ تا ۶ طراحی شده است.
